 About the role

This direct leadership role will see you leading and supporting our team members and reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager. You will be joining a team of passionate professionals driven to provide safe, holistic nursing care to each individual patient to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Calvary North Adelaide's operating suite is comprised of 7 theatres and 3 procedure rooms. We offer a broad range of specialities catering for adult and paediatric patients including Orthopaedic, General, Urology, Plastics, Dental, Gynaecology, ENT, Maxillary-Facial, Ophthalmology, Spinal and Endoscopy.

This role includes predominantly Monday to Friday shifts along with occasional Saturday standby (volunteer based) and self-rostered on-call as required. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced anaesthetic nurse to branch out into different specialities areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and lead peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team, to achieve goals and positive health outcomes.

What you bring :

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent Anaesthetic nursing experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, support and mentorship
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvements
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the values of Calvary Healthcare.
  • A desire to share your experiences and participate in the future development of the unit.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A post graduate qualification in relevant specialty
  • PALS accreditation/paediatric experience is desirable but not essential
  • A sense of humour
