About the role

In this role, you will undertake counselling and case management with new mothers and pregnant women who are wanting to overcome their alcohol and drug dependence. 

With your ability to work in a high demand environment with a level of autonomy and efficacy you will provide high quality engagement, assessment counselling and support services to your clients using your experience of evidence based practice principles for withdrawal, support and recovery.

This is a rewarding position working with new mothers with children and pregnant women who are impacted by substance use.

This position offers an opportunity to progress in the AOD field including counselling and group facilitation in a therapeutic environment.

We have four exciting Permanent Part Time positions available which cover the following areas:

• Murrumbidgee-lower area, based in Denliquin
• Murrumbidgee south-eastern area, based in Wagga Wagga
• Murrumbidgee south-eastern area, based in Temora
• Murrumbidgee-upper area, based in Hay

What you bring

• Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD clinical practice.
• Demonstrated expertise in community-based service delivery with a sound knowledge of the potential risk elements specific to this type of environment.
• Experience in developing and delivering education programs and group facilitation with AOD clients.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload.
• Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
• Membership with either of the following professional bodies are preferable: Australian Associate of Social Workers (AASW) as a Social worker or The Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
• Working with Children’s check
• Current vaccination status.
