 About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our diverse, compassionate and dedicated team to provide effective and efficient accounting support in a busy health care setting. Our Assistant Accountant plays a key role in liaising with staff, management and executive and ensuring the delivery of exemplary financial service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly preparation of accounts including Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Profit and Loss Statements, general ledger and statistical ledger preparation and postings.
  • Monthly preparation of purchased capital expenditure and disposals and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Daily processing of bank reconciliation.
  • Other adhoc duties that may be requested from time to time

What you bring 

  • Accountancy Degree/Diploma qualified or working towards.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial and management accounting skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work both within a team environment and autonomously
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
  • Ideally at least three years' experience in accounting
