About the role

In this role you will work in consultation with the Registered Nurse and Clinical Manager of the ward/department, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing care for patients in our Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Unit.

You will be responding to patients’ emotional, spiritual and cultural needs, ensuring privacy and monitoring and maintaining a safe environment. Working with our supportive team, you will work in accordance with the mission and vision of Calvary and actively participate in developing a culture that promotes Calvary’s values of healing, hospitality, stewardship and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal patient cares
  • Assisting RNs and ENs 
  • General nursing duties as directed by RNs and ENs

What you bring 

  • Certificate lll in Health Services Assistant or equivalent
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated competence as a 1st year undergraduate nursing student
  • Currently enrolled in second year of a Bachelor of Nursing degree
  • A strong desire to be a part of the team
  • Immunisation status up to date including Covid19 vaccinations
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
