  • Seeking Care Manager for our Berri Residential aged care facility.

About the role

The Care Manager is responsible for coordinating and providing clinical leadership to both the Clinical and Care teams in consultation with the Manager.

This role practices as a professional Registered Nurse and will ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements to enable us to continue to deliver a high standard of care, services and most importantly a quality lifestyle for our residents.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an approachable, enthusiastic and positive role model for staff
  • Undertake Home manager duties when the Home Manager is absent from the site
  • Oversee and direct clinical nursing care including care planning, care review, staff skill mixes and ensure best practice clinical standards
  • Assist with the formulation and allocation of duty lists across nursing and carer shifts
  • Coordinate admission of residents
  • Manage ACFI submissions
  • Monitor nursing and care staff performance and provide guidance where required
  • Coordinate nursing and care staff education
  • Provide leadership in continuous improvement activities including monitoring clinical audits and ensuring non-compliance is corrected and opportunities for improvement are actioned
  • Act as a leader in facility meetings
  • Adhere to all relevant WHS policies and procedures
  • Any other duties reasonable within the Care Manager’s ability

 

 

What you bring 

 

  • Post Graduate experience and /or qualifications in Aged Care / Leadership/ Management
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of contemporary issues relating to the aged care industry
  • Possess a good understanding of current human resource management principles and practices
  • Possess a good understanding of the concepts of Continuous Improvement and their application in aged care
  • Basic knowledge of and/or willingness to develop skills in working with records and information management in an electronic environment
  • Proven leadership experience in a nursing environment is desirable
  • Proven high level management, leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to plan work, establish priorities and delegate effectively
  • Ability to take accountability for the delivery of contemporary care practices
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations and deal with difficult people
  • Ability to produce clear, relevant and concise documentation in accordance with established, agreed and/or appropriate timeframes
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to relate effectively to a wide range of people
