About the role

Come work at Calvary Adelaide Hospital, South Australia's largest private Hospital.

Experienced Chef with minimum ten years’ experience in a busy commercial kitchen required. Rotational shifts, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Working in a team to provide nutrition for 250 plus per day. You will be working under pressure to get the job done but you will be doing a job that matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and production of food as required
  • Prepare and present “special” menu items showing variety and flair
  • Review stock and ensure rotation and minimum wastage.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and operational during your shift.
  • Undertake Food safety Supervisor training
  • Place stock orders on a rotational basis

What you bring 

  • Experience as a Commis chef within a fast pace, dynamic environment
  • A certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Advanced and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills & grooming standards
  • Understanding of HACCP principles and practices
  • Ability to multitask and react to a dynamic environment.
  • Available to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
