About the role
The Graduate Nurse Program Clinical Development Nurses will work within the Learning and Development Team to provide education and support to the Nurse Graduates with in the Nurse Graduate Program. This support includes, clinical supervision, graduate support, education sessions, study day coordination and program implementation. The Nurse Graduate Program Clinical Development Nurse would also be required to assist in, when able, hospital wide mandatory training education, including Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and orientation requirements.
What you bring
As part of this role, the Clinical Development Nurse will possess:
MANDATORY
Registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
A completed (or equivalent) Graduate Certificate, and/or working toward a PG Diploma or Master’s degree in clinical education
Certificate IV Training and Assessment- Cert IV TAE40116
ALS1 current or working towards completion of ALS1, preferably through the ARC
Demonstrates the ability to provide supervision, mentor and coaching strategies to support nurses in all clinical areas and practice staff in the nursing division
Demonstrates clinical leadership qualities in the workplace that reflect the values of the organisation.
Participates in ongoing professional development of self and others
Applies effective interpersonal communication skills within the multidisciplinary team
Experience in the supervision of graduate nurses
Knowledge of adult learning principles and simulation learning techniques used in clinical facilitation and training.
Able to break down an activity into component tasks and coordinate resources, establish priorities, and meet deadlines to optimize training experience for staff
