Clinical Manager – Mary Potter Hospice

  • This is an exciting time for us at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital as we embark on a new shared care model of care for inpatient palliative care.
  • Working closely with our Nurse Practitioner, Medical and other Multidisciplinary team members we provide comprehensive palliative care services to our patients and their loved ones.
  • The  Clinical Manager – Mary Potter Hospice provides professional leadership to the nursing and allied health team, delivering palliative services and monitoring quality, including standards of practice and service standards
  • We have 15 beds within our Hospice, the Clinical Manager is responsible for day to day operational aspects of the hospice as well as planning for our future.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our team, and work within our beautiful heritage listed building. We have a wonderful team of experienced enrolled and registered nurses who bring enormous skill to the care of our patients. Working alongside our nursing team is an experienced multi-disciplinary team made up of medical and allied health staff along with dedicated volunteers and support services.

We have a close and supportive relationship with the Mary Potter Foundation.

We are looking for someone who has the skills to manage the operational responsibilities of the unit and work collaboratively with the executive and management teams to assist the hospital achieve its strategic and operational objectives.


  • development of relationships with like-minded professional people
  • be the principal point of contact for our internal and external key stakeholders
  • active involvement in supporting staff education
  • provision of well-balanced rosters for all areas within Mary Potter Hospice
  • sound financial management of human and material resources
  • The role is also accountable for promoting, facilitating and providing clinical governance to the nursing and medical team, to enhance best patient care outcomes and to ensure safe patient care practice standards are maintained. This includes leading evidenced based professional nursing practice
  • direct customer service with key internal and external contacts

Skills and Experience

  • current AHPRA registration
  • 5 years’ experience working in palliative care
  • great customer service
  • competent computer skills
  • ability to think in an agile way
  • a desire to join a multi-disciplined team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
  • proven track record in people management
