About the role
The Clinical Nurse in St Catherine ward is responsible for providing safe, effective and evidence based patient care in a patient-focused environment.
St Catherine is a 35 bed acute surgical ward specialising in Colorectal, Gynaecology, Breast and Endocrine, and general surgeries.
The Clinical Nurse has the ability to lead the day to day clinical team in consultation with the Clinical Manager.
The role is predominately Monday to Friday with a mix of early and late shifts, with the ability to work on weekends by mutual agreement, and the occasional Night shift should the need arise to support staff on these shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, working as part of a multi D team to ensure optimum patient outcomes.
Provides support and direction to Registered, Enrolled, Graduate and student nurses, AIN’s and HSA’s
Assists in professional development of staff and supports a positive professional culture
Manages of an agreed portfolio
Expected to act in a relieving role for Clinical Manager or clinical specialty
