 About the role

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Ophthalmology Surgery Scrub / Scout Registered Nurse as Level 2 Clinical Nurse. 

The successful applicant will need to work within the team and at times autonomously, reporting to the Theatre Manager. Our team offers a supportive and dynamic work environment which supports cross-skilling and flexible work options.

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is South Australia’s newest and largest private hospital, featuring 16 operating rooms, 324 inpatient rooms, 20 ICU beds, a 24-hour emergency department and rehabilitation services. The hospital is due for completion in 2019 and we are seeking experienced clinical staff to join the Calvary team now.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a professional resource and role model, demonstrating broad knowledge/expertise in all facets of anaesthetic care to ensure best practice and high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Supervising and supporting staff within the unit
  • Participating in Quality Improvement Programs in line with organisational and departmental strategic plans

What you bring 

  • Relevant qualifications and registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse
  • Minimum two years’ post graduate experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Ophthalmology
  • Knowledge of NSQHS & ACORN standards and how they apply to practice
  • Ability to manage designated portfolio and display strong leadership and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity 
  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a health-care team, and positively influence the performance of other staff
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
