About the role

Key Responsibilities

This role provides a great opportunity to work as a Research Nurse in a growing research department which is part of the Statewide PND Servicer.  The Statewide PND Service is a specialist provider of interdisciplinary assessment and management services for people with complex needs due to a diagnosed PND such as Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsonian Syndromes.

Duties include

  • Coordinate and conduct trial - related activities as specified in the relevant study protocol
  • Assist, when available, in other ongoing SPNDS research studies
  • Practice at all times within current appropriate regulations to ensure that each subject’s nursing needs are met.
  • Conduct clinical research in accordance with TGA ICH GCP, the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and relevant state/federal privacy laws.
  • As delegated, provide clinical and professional advice relating to the conduct of clinical research to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Within the guidelines of the employment contract, maintain a flexible approach to working hours in order to meet the requirements of research protocols and participant recruitment.

What you bring 

  • Current AHPRA/Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia registration 
  • Minimum 3 years Post Graduate experience 
  • Experience coordinating a clinical clinical research and trials within Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, specifically in neurology
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Proven skills in the management of the activities of a multi-disciplinary team who are engaged in clinical research projects to ensure compliance with protocols and overall clinical objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment
