About the role

Calvary Sandhurst is a warm and home-like residential aged care home in Carrum Downs providing leading aged care services with excellent lifestyle options and therapeutic support for our residents. We are looking for an experienced and flexible Food Services Assistant to join our team on a Casual basis. You must be available to work for both weekdays and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily meals including beverages for residents that meet the special dietary requirements as instructed by the Chef/Cook.
  • Ensure familiarity with menus and the needs and preferences of individual residents within the residence
  • Plate/deliver meals to residents, ensuring that the correct meal is received by each resident.
  • Complete cleaning tasks in accordance with the cleaning schedule, filling in appropriate sign off sheet
  • Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the Food Safety Program at all times

What you bring 

  • Follow Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role in residential care, health care or hospitality sectors.
  • Current National police check no disclosable outcomes
  • Current valid Australian work rights
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt  
  • Knowledge and experience in safe food handling
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
