About the role

To work with the Tiwi Island Cook and the Manager in the hygienic preparation and efficient serving of meals to the residents of Mulakunya Flexible Aged Care Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Certificate in food handling and/or understanding of food safe practices
  • Experience in working in a Dining Room/Kitchen Setting
  • Knowledge of kitchen and cleaning processes, systems and equipment

What you bring 

  • Deliver meals to individuals within the community at breakfast and lunch times
  • Assist with receiving and transporting goods from the barge to the facility taking due care of self and goods
  • Receive, handle and rotate stores in safe and hygienic manner meeting all the necessary regulations and guidelines
  • Assist in temperature recording, maintaining and signing schedules
  • Monitor and maintain the safe storage of LPG bottles, replacing bottles as required
  • Clean kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Maintain and sign cleaning schedules
  • Complete washing up, clean the benches and sink area prior to end of shift each day
  • Assist the Cook with the preparation and service of meals as required and directed
  • Take all reasonable care of personal health and safety as well as that of co-workers, clients and visitors
  • Observe all instructions and rules issued to protect personal health and safety and that of others
  • Flexibility in spread of hours required from time to time in order to be responsive to client and Support Worker needs.
