Salary Range: $115,743 - $120,506 (Plus Super)

About the role

The role of Emergency Nurse Educator is to provide a coordinated and structured approach for nursing education within the Emergency Department, liaising closely with local universities and nursing education providers. The Emergency Nurse Educator will also assist staff to achieve mandatory training requirements, clinical competencies and enhanced clinical skills through a range of educational strategies, and guide orientation and preceptorship for new staff.

What you bring 

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (nil conditions or restrictions)
  • Extensive Experience in Emergency Nursing >5 years
  • Postgraduate qualification in emergency nursing and/or education
  • Extensive demonstrated competence and leadership in providing direct patient care (for patients of varying complexity) utilising the nursing process, and incorporating a risk assessment approach while working within professional legislation and existing policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of, the principles of quality management, nursing practice review/development, clinical research and policy development
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a range of learning and professional development opportunities for nurses who are providing care at basic and advanced levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
