About the role:

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is the largest private hospital in South Australia and is seeking Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic Allied Health team. We specialise in acute care - including orthopaedic, cardiac, general medical, general surgical, neurosurgery and spinal surgery, respiratory, bariatric - and rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient services. With our expanding services we have exciting opportunities for both permanent and casual positions, open to all levels of experience. These positions will assist across all areas of the hospital. Shifts are predominately week days with potential weekend work on a roster basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive assessments
  • Create, monitor and progress individual treatment plans
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Development of patient-focused goals
  • Providing discharge planning to ensure a safe and timely discharge
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Prescribing and arranging for provision of appropriate equipment
  • Provide mentoring to undergraduate students as needed 
  • Current clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability
  • High standard of clinical and professional practice
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexibility across acute, rehabilitation and ambulatory outpatients

What you bring 

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, which entitles registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated involvement in discipline-related professional development.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with a variety of different conditions.
  • Ability to engage and work collaboratively with relevant internal and external agencies.
  • Ability to organise, set priorities and manage time effectively for caseload management.
  • Ability to travel between sites and home visits with a current driver’s license
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
