About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of scrub scout and or anaesthetics/recovery services to patients in our fast paced day surgery unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Giving direct care to high acuity patients in the Day Surgery Unit
  • Using a patient centred approach to patient assessment.
  • Maintaining continuity of care for each patient.
  • Accepting responsibility on behalf of the Enrolled Nurse, AIN’s and other Health Care Assistants for those duties which they are unable to undertake due to the Regulations of AHPRA, the position description and hospital policies.
  • Evaluating outcomes of care and initiating appropriate follow-up.

What you bring 

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Up-to-date immunisation status including COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in a surgical setting as either a scrub scout or anaesthetics/recovery nurse
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
