Senior Surgical Registrar

Full Time Term Fixed term 12 months

Salary: $158,634 (Plus Super and shift allowance)


About the role

At Calvary Public Hospital Bruce with the growth and demand on General Surgical services in the Territory we’re looking for a Senior Surgical Registrar who has a passion and interest in training in Surgery and to assist our General Surgery consultants.. The Surgical Senior Registrar position provides oversight to the department Surgical Unit through, Managing the supervision of registrars, interns and residents and engage in opportunities for the extension of their clinical knowledge and skills. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, apply medical knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients and leading meeting and education sessions.

 We offer you in return a friendly patient focused multidisciplinary team with close consultant support to help you succeed in this role. This is a non-accredited position, and will require some after hours and nights at Calvary hospital.   

What you bring  

  •  Your passion and skill which is shown in your full registration/eligible registration as a medical practitioner with the AHPRA
  • Your knowledge and willingness to learn more. This is the opportunity for you to put your postgraduate experience in  a surgical care setting
  • Proven competence in applying Medical knowledge and sound judgement in clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients
  • Your customer focused team skills teamed with your excellent teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You’re not afraid to reach out for help and assistance
  • You’re comfortable to lead by example with the Calvary values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect
