About the role

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is the largest private hospital in South Australia and is seeking Speech Pathologists to join our dynamic Allied Health team. We specialise in acute medical and surgical care, including neurology, cardiac, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient services including oncology. With our expanding services we have exciting opportunities for both permanent and casual positions, open to all levels of experience. Shifts are predominately week days with potential weekend work on a roster basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive assessments of people who are having difficulty with swallowing and/or unable to communicate effectively
  • Educate and create individual treatment plans
  • Goal setting
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal
  • Patient and family approach to care delivery
  • Current clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability
  • High standard of clinical and professional practice
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexibility across acute, rehabilitation and ambulatory outpatients

What you bring 

  • Speech Pathology degree or equivalent higher qualification which entitles membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Minimum three years clinical experience in acute services with a high standard of clinical and professional practice.
  • Current SA driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and with all categories of staff.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and to delegate appropriately.
  • Ability to undertake assessment and intervention with clients with a broad range of conditions relevant to the areas of specialty for Calvary Healthcare Adelaide.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
