About the role
As a Support Worker your role will be to assist a diverse range of clients including aged, disability and high needs clients with activities of daily living and providing support services such as domestic assistance, social support and respite and personal care at their homes and in the community.
These are rewarding roles offering the flexibility to work your preferred hours. Vacancies are available for both Support Workers - Disability (qualified) and Support Workers - Home Care (qualified and unqualified). We currently have need of Support Workers across metropolitan Melbourne, Gippsland, Shepparton and surrounding towns and also in Launceston, Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities
Support customers in activities of daily living in accordance with the care plan.
Promote customer choice, positive routines and activities ensuring they are meaningful to the customer as per Calvary Community Care’s Service Delivery Model.
Support customers to achieve their goals and make choices in partnership with other support networks.
What you bring
Support Workers - Disability - Completed Certificate III or IV in Disability or minimum Certificate III in Individualised Support Disability Speciality or a superseded qualification combined with experience in a related field and current NDIS Worker Screening clearance
Support Workers - Home Care - A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (desirable but not essential)
Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
Commitment to continuous quality improvement
Current and valid Driver’s Licence, insured, reliable motor vehicle and smart mobile phone
Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain
Proficiency in use of technology such as smart phones, email and internet
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
