About the role
As Unaccredited Medical Registrar at the Calvary Mater Newcastle, The successful applicant will work in an acute clinical setting, supporting the General Medical staff specialists and will rotate in a clinical year of four 13 week terms. You will be working after hours shifts & must be prepared to work an equal share of days, evenings, Nights and weekends, supporting JMO’s and acting as the specialist’s proxy to admit(through the Emergency Department) and manage patients on the wards in acute & sub-acute setting. You will have the opportunity to work in other sub specialties such as Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Haematology, Palliative Care, and cover Basic Physician Trainee Annual Leave in weekly blocks, providing continuity of care.

The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement. Leave types may include but not limited to Long Service Leave, Annual Leave and Sick Leave. Applicants are encouraged to discuss this with the Convenor for further information.
