About the role

Work with the surgical multidisciplinary team in providing excellent patient care within Calvary Mater Newcastle to maximise the health outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and execution of innovative programs in both the delivery of care and clinical training.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Anaesthesia to improve service delivery and patient management.
  • Work effectively with clinical colleagues to achieve departmental and Ministry of Health benchmarks and targets. 
  • Contribute to the professional development of senior and junior medical staff.
  • Attend relevant committee meetings and present the views of the services to working parties and planning groups as appropriate.
  • Ensure that Work Health and Safety standards are adhered to within the hospital.
