 About the role

Perioperative Nurses form an integral and invaluable component of the high-quality nursing care and patient management delivered at Calvary John James Hospital. As a Registered Nurse specialising in Anaesthetics, you will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive, safe and holistic care for patients throughout the perioperative period.

Whilst delivering optimal patient centred care, you will demonstrate Calvary’s key values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect in daily practice. Amongst our unit of high performing individuals, you will work within a supportive team and maintain professional relationships. You will be committed to professional development and strongly prioritise a supportive learning culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining optimal customer service and communication skills
  • A patient centred and holistic approach to patient assessment
  • Effective recognition and response to patient needs

What you bring 

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Up-to-date immunisation status
  • A minimum of two (2) years post graduate nursing experience and recent Anaesthetic or Critical Care Nursing experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and accreditation standards
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to manage priorities and a busy workload
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and education

Desirable:

  • Anaesthetics nursing experience
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics or Critical Care nursing
  • Adult and Paediatric Advanced Life Support certification

The salary and conditions for this position are in accordance with Calvary Health Care Riverina Ltd and the NSWNMA, ANMF NSW Branch, Nurses and Midwives, Enterprise Agreement 2019. The position is classified as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife. The classification will vary according to the candidates experience, 1st Year to 8th Year, the salary range is from $35.25 to $45.23 per hour based on relevant experience.
