About Us
Over 130 years of compassionate, high-quality care
Calvary was established by six courageous Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, who sailed into Sydney 1885 and immediately set to work nursing the most sick and vulnerable in the community.
Their story of enduring care for the physical and spiritual health of so many Australians continues through Calvary 16,000 strong workforce.

Our values and our mission
We bring the healing ministry of Jesus to those who are sick, dying and in need through “being for others”:
- in the Spirit of Mary standing by her Son on Calvary;
- through the provision of quality, responsive and compassionate health, community and aged care services;
- based on Gospel values; and
- in celebration of the rich heritage and story of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary
Our Values are visible in how we act and treat each other. We are stewards of the rich heritage of care and compassion of the
Little Company of Mary. We are guided by our values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect.

Reconciliation at Calvary
Calvary acknowledges the Traditional Custodians and Owners of the lands on which all our services operate. We recognise that these Custodians have walked upon and cared for these lands for thousands of years. We acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of First Nations peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of Reconciliation.
