Calvary was established by six courageous Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, who sailed into Sydney 1885 and immediately set to work nursing the most sick and vulnerable in the community.
Their story of enduring care for the physical and spiritual health of so many Australians continues through Calvary 16,000 strong workforce.
We bring the healing ministry of Jesus to those who are sick, dying and in need through “being for others”:
Our Values are visible in how we act and treat each other. We are stewards of the rich heritage of care and compassion of the
Little Company of Mary. We are guided by our values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect.
At Calvary, everyone is welcome. We value diversity and are committed to fostering a workplace that is respectful, welcoming and inclusive where people are supported to draw strengths from their identity, culture and community.
We value the integral dignity of each person and we encourage applications from First Nations peoples, people living with a disability, LGBT+ people, people who have come to Australia as migrants or refugees and veterans.
You matter. We care about you.
Your family, those who care for you, and the wider community we serve, matter.
Your dignity guides and shapes the care we offer you.
Your physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and social needs are important to us.
We will listen to you and to those who care for you. We will involve you in your care. We will deliver care tailored to your needs and goals.
Your wellbeing inspires us to learn and improve.
Calvary acknowledges the Traditional Custodians and Owners of the lands on which all our services operate. We recognise that these Custodians have walked upon and cared for these lands for thousands of years. We acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of First Nations peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of Reconciliation.
