Excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional with strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills to join a leading health care provider in Newcastle, NSW.

  • Fixed-Term (11 months, relief until February 2026).
  • Part-Time (32 hours per week) with Full-Time hours considered.  
  • Salary Classification: Health Services Manager Level 1
  • Remuneration: $41.14-$54.74 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging options designed to reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home pay

THE ROLE:

The Human Resources (HR) Consultant will provide advice on HR matters by partnering and consulting with leaders and employees to ensure a high-level HR service delivery across the Hospital. The HR Consultant will develop and deliver on HR priorities and ensure that HR initiatives such as performance management, recruitment and employee engagement agendas are aligned with the compliance framework. The HR Consultant is responsible for ensuring the day-to day transactional processes and procedures are efficient and adapt in a changing environment.

DUTIES:

  • Partner with WH&S on safety matters.
  • Coordinate Senior Medical Recruitment.
  • Conduct complex workplace investigations.
  • Manage recruitment, selection and appointment activities and contract variations.
  • Build and maintain effective business partnerships with Leaders and the Executive team.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures and programs for managers and employees.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring services to leaders to assist them in developing the competency and skills to effectively manage their own staffing accountabilities.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human resource management or related area.
  • Strong report writing skills as well as excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating transactional HR processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and exercise initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers through highly developed interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Sound understanding of employee relations and industrial relations and demonstrated ability to manage HR operational activities.
  • Proven capacity to determine the most appropriate and sound HR solutions to a given problem to improve productivity and effectiveness in organisational performance.

Applicants with transferable experience within public health may be considered for appointment to this position within the Health Services Manager Level 2 classification.
