Calvary is excited to be partnering with the University of Tasmania to offer the opportunity to be part of our Student Internship Program in 2025.
This program will support successful applicants as they transition from student to graduate nurse as they participate in two professional experience placements at Calvary Hobart.
With an aim of making the transition from Student Nurse to Registered Nurse as smooth as possible, the program will provide students with support from established educators and nurses along with ongoing mentorship and performance feedback.
At the completion of the program, Student Interns will gain direct entry into the Calvary Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) and 0.8FTE permanent registered nurse positions provided the meet the following requirements:
Coming onto placements and being familiar with protocols and systems (vitro, sending things to pharmacy etc.) meant more time could be spent practicing clinical things, rather than learning tedious tasks every time in a new facility.

No, all requirements of the course outline will need to be met before entering into the Graduate Nurse Transition Program.
Yes, maintaining academic excellence is a requirement and you may be asked to leave the Calvary Student Internship Program at Calvary's discretion.
Maintaining and exhibiting behaviour consistent with Calvary Code of Conduct is a requirement of successful completion of the Internship. You may be asked to leave the Program if this is not adhered to.
Maintaining clinical excellence is a requirement of the Calvary Internship Program and you may be asked to leave the Program if this is not met.
Meeting all the requirements for entrance into the Graduate Nurse Transition Program is a strict requirement.
