Hobart Student Internship Program 2025

Calvary is excited to be partnering with the University of Tasmania to offer the opportunity to be part of our Student Internship Program in 2025.

This program will support successful applicants as they transition from student to graduate nurse as they participate in two professional experience placements at Calvary Hobart.

With an aim of making the transition from Student Nurse to Registered Nurse as smooth as possible, the program will provide students with support from established educators and nurses along with ongoing mentorship and performance feedback.

At the completion of the program, Student Interns will gain direct entry into the Calvary Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) and 0.8FTE permanent registered nurse positions provided the meet the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of their degree
  • Subsequent Registration with AHPRA
  • Completion of all Calvary pre-employment requirements.
  • The program is scheduled from February 2025 with Student Interns anticipated to complete the program by December 2025 to successfully move into a Graduate Nurse Transition Program in 2026.

Coming onto placements and being familiar with protocols and systems (vitro, sending things to pharmacy etc.) meant more time could be spent practicing clinical things, rather than learning tedious tasks every time in a new facility.
