Join Calvary as our Strategic Operations & Performance Support Officer (Aged Care)

We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on a vital role as the key interface between operations, finance, rostering, and other business support functions across Calvary. The primary focus of this role is to drive performance efficiency while consistently improving resident care.

Reporting to the Strategic Operations & Performance – Aged Care, you will collaborate with key teams to stay ahead of compliance changes and reporting requirements. Your expertise will be essential in managing projects, preparing detailed reports, and overseeing workforce governance. You’ll work to ensure the financial health of the organisation by optimising rosters and effectively planning for workforce changes, especially in response to occupancy fluctuations and resident care metrics.

This role will also require a strong understanding of the Aged Care Regulatory and funding environment to support the organisation in adapting to regulatory changes and ensuring compliance.

Your main duties will include:

  • Training & Knowledge Development: Develop training materials and provide training to team members and stakeholders on processes, services, and workforce models, ensuring alignment with Department of Health and Aged Care (DOHAC) compliance and budget requirements.

  • Workforce & Roster Management: Assess and monitor the impact of DOHAC Target Minutes on Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) requirements. Facilitate workforce reviews with General Managers, Operations, and the Strategic Operations & Performance – Aged Care team. Ensure roster health is maintained through dashboards and proactive support for Home Managers and Roster Support Teams.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Review Aged Care Quarterly Financial Reporting data, collaborate with finance and data teams, and ensure necessary approvals and sign-offs. Develop reports and follow up on action plans related to financial viability.

  • Strategic Insights & Reporting: Provide strategic insights to the Strategic Operations & Performance – Aged Care team to support operational delivery. Develop a monthly reporting structure highlighting key risks, opportunities, and governance needs for ongoing and future Aged Care operations.

  • Work with the Strategic Operations & Performance- Aged Care and key operational managers to ensure that workforce models effectively support care delivery within Calvary residential aged care
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the aged care clinical governance team to ensure that national trends and changes that impact operations are identified and responded to.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of policies, procedures, and practices related to service design and operations, enabling effective financial assessment, forecasting, and ensuring ongoing sustainability.

 

About you

Required

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as in analyst/reporting position, supporting the delivery of strategic/operational programs
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in leading problem definition and business analysis components of projects and programs, and creation of clearly understood artefacts/documents.
  • Excellent, demonstrable data analysis and insights generation skills, and the ability to communicate these effectively to business stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with team members, internal and external stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Curious and able to apply creative thinking, consulting, commercial acumen, process improvement, and problem-solving skills to identify, assess, and recommend key areas for improvement.
  • Relevant Business and/or IT Tertiary qualifications.

 

Desirable

  • Experience working in the Health Care industry (Residential Aged Care, Community Care, Virtual Care, and/or Hospital and Clinical segments)
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of current issues and developments impacting on delivery of health services.
  • Experience working in programs or projects that incorporate service design, policy change and technology implementation
  • Agile Scrum Master and Business Analysis qualifications (Desirable)
