About the role
Are you passionate about nursing and looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, professional environment? Join the team at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital as a casual Assistant in Nursing. This is your chance to make a real difference in patient care while working in an inclusive, dynamic healthcare setting.
As an Assistant in Nursing, you will work closely with Registered and Enrolled Nurses, providing vital support in delivering high-quality care to patients. Your role will involve assisting with personal care duties, nutritional needs, mobility, transfers and positioning within the ward, elimination needs, supporting nursing procedures, cleaning equipment, and ensuring the smooth management of stock levels. You'll help create a safe and caring environment, offering compassionate support to patients and their families. You will work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary ward team, under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Manager or equivalent, and will make a positive contribution to patient care through assistance and support to our Registered and Enrolled Nurses.
Your main duties will include:
Assist with patient personal care and routine nursing tasks
Support nursing procedures and maintain equipment
Alert Registered Nurses to patient or visitor concerns
Work under the supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses to ensure optimal care.
Your Contribution
As a qualified Assistant in Nursing, you will bring strong interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients and families to the role. You will be a reliable team player, who enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team and is available to work a minimum of two shifts per fortnight.
You will also have:
Certificate III Health Assistant (Nursing) OR enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program, having successfully completed the first year of undergraduate nursing degree
Excellent ability to plan and prioritise workload
Experience in nursing care within a healthcare setting.
