About the role
The Calvary Health Care Bethlehem Speech Pathology Department has a casual AHA role available for immediate start.
8-12 hours /week (1-2 days) currently available with possibility of additional hours during staff leave.
The casual role is primarily based on the 32 bed inpatient hospital unit and involves patient related duties in the areas of communication, social connection and swallowing. The role also involves general administrative duties, resource development, and assisting with departmental projects. You will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. We offer a supportive environment for staff with a multitude of professional development opportunities.
The role contributes greatly to our patient-centred "Staying Connected" program.
The Calvary Health Care Bethlehem Staying Connected Program was established in July 2020 as a direct response to the challenge of COVID-19, to address the heightened need for social and emotional connection. This innovative program continues to be in high demand to this day. The program objectives are to enable inpatients to receive practical and meaningful support to enhance social connection, coping and wellbeing, at a time when they are extremely socially isolated.

About Calvary Health Care Bethlehem
We are a tertiary provider of specialist multidisciplinary care for those living with progressive neurological and palliative conditions (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease and Huntington’s disease) across the state of Victoria. Our team works within a neuropalliative rehabilitation framework and aims to provide best practice assessment and holistic care for patients with progressive neurological diseases and their families, across the disease trajectory. We offer inpatient, outpatient and community based services.
