About you

The assistant in nursing is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a valued member of the team, providing daily care to patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Vital signs and patient monitoring, reporting all changes to nursing in charge
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families
  • Work within the multidisciplinary team to promote best outcomes for patients in out care.

 

What you bring 

  • Currently enrolled and studying a Bachelor of Nursing, completion of first year of studies.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
