The Clinical Nurse of Oral Surgery is an integral part of the perioperative team whose role encompasses the delivery of either direct or indirect patient care Monday to Friday.
Looking for an experienced RN/CN to join the Level 3 Theatre Suite team with expertise in oral surgery.
About the role:
Oral surgery Clinical Nurse - Level 2 expectations.
The applicant will provide advanced skills and knowledge to support staff and VMOs in the smooth running of lists with a focus on patient safety and best outcomes.
Provide support, mentorship, direction, orientation and education to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Graduate nurses and students in the perioperative area.
Responsible for planning and coordinating services relating to oral surgery services provided by the Level 3 team.
Act as a role model in the provision of care to patients.
Perform other selected duties as allocated by the Clinical Manager.
At times review, create and update policies, work instructions and participate in the auditing process.
Provide safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.
Ensure all aspects of patient care services are of the highest standard in line with best practice.
Take a key role in the leadership of the unit, be an accountable and autonomous nurse; act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions.
What you bring:
Ideal candidate would have 3+ years’ previous experience in a perioperative environment performing oral surgery.
Previous Clinical Nurse experience highly valued, not essential.
Provide leadership and education to staff, students, patients and relatives within the Level 3 Theatre Suite.
Ensure the adherence of clinical standards and application of principles of best practice, to maximise high quality patient outcomes.
Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Effectively engage with people and communities from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
