About the role
12 month maternity leave cover position. To provide a comprehensive initial assessment of symptoms, psychosocial needs and direct the ongoing care of patients referred to the palliative care services, within Calvary Hospital.
About you
Possess registration with the Medical Board of Australia - Insurance Act 1997.
Extensive experience working in Palliative Medicine - at least 3 years postgraduate training in this field, with FRACP (or eligibility for this) in Palliative Medicine and FAChPM (or eligibility for this).
Experience in management of Palliative Care patients, with demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to contemporary palliative care service provision with demonstrated knowledge of national and state priorities for palliative care services and sound clinical knowledge in Palliative Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
Interest and experience in teaching and education of junior medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Evidence of participation in Continuing Medical Education, undertaking Education and self monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah.
