About the role

We are looking for Support Workers for the Sydney Local Health District program to join our team at Calvary!

As a Support Worker your role will be to assist a diverse range of clients including aged and high needs clients with activities of daily living and providing support services such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite and Personal Care at their home and in the community. If you have a passion working with the elderly and have empathy and understanding this is for you. We provide support and training to all staff in house. You will be going to the clients personal homes where they live to give them the opportunity to stay at home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending to clients in their own home - your own car is a must as you need to travel to clients' homes in various areas
  • Empathy & Patience for Elderly clients
  • Willing to attend to Domestic Assistance Duties
  • Must be willing to travel within 25kms from home

About you

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (highly desirable)
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence, insured, reliable motor vehicle, smart mobile phone, current and valid First Aid & CPR certificates
  • Able to work in the SLHD (Sydney Local Health District) Program and fulfil all its mandatory requirements including the SLHD immunisation process, WWCC, full comprehensive car insurance. Candidates not able to fulfil the SLHD requirements cannot work in this role. We are looking for people who are willing to cover especially the city and inner west areas. Your willingness to travel is essential in this role. 
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smart  phones, email and internet
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
