Due to Retirement, Calvary St Luke’s has two exciting opportunities to join the senior leadership team within the Perioperative services: Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager & Perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist. St Luke’s Theatre specialises in ENT and is the largest Orthopaedic surgical provider in Northern Tasmania.
The Nurse Unit Manger is responsible for providing leadership, management and governance to the nursing and ancillary teams, while working with our VMO community to provide optimal care for our patients.
You will be able to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge in both clinical and non-clinical duties to support staff, Surgeons and Anaesthetists in the smooth running of operating lists, with a key focus on patient safety and optimal patient outcomes.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. In delegation with the Nurse Manager, assisting in the leadership of the perioperative team to achieve optimal patient care, ensuring efficiency of the operating lists and workload.
Both roles are an integral part of the Calvary Launceston Senior Leadership team. As the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse specialist you will provide leadership to the perioperative team to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. You will have leadership experience within perioperative nursing and sound knowledge around human resource and business management principals
The roles encompass planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services. These positions require team work to achieve excellence in care delivery in line with best practice, governing standards and legislative requirements. The successful applicant will aim to support and entrench a culture of clinical excellence and best practice.
