This is a rewarding, hands on role that will give you the opportunity to positively impact on the lives of our residents. Care Service Employees work within the aged care team to promote the delivery of quality care to residents and their families, demonstrating competence in the provision of resident-centred care.
Flora McDonald is located in the attractive suburb of Cowandilla not far from the Adelaide Airport. The facility caters for 153 residents and is a modern purpose built building.
Key Responsibilities
Work within an established and agreed framework to deliver a range of personal care tasks, including, but not limited to daily hygiene, for example: showering; shaving; dressing; mouth and eye care
Observe the condition of residents and report any changes to the Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, Facility Manager or appropriate person as well as completing the required documentation
Respect each person’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality when providing services for residents
Assist residents who require assistance with mobility as per care plan. Residents are to be encouraged to remain ambulatory and independent
Respect each resident and ensure that they are treated with dignity and given opportunities for making decisions particularly concerning their day to day routine
What you bring
Certificate III Aged Care or Individual Support is essential
Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
Working knowledge of WHS and Infection Control
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
