Collection Notice
What is the purpose of this notice?
This Collection Notice describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information via the Calvary Careers site. This Collection Notice should be read with our Privacy Policy. You may also request a copy of the Privacy Policy in person at one of our facilities or by using the contact details set out below. Our Privacy Policy sets out, among other things:
- how you can access the personal information we hold about you and how you can ask us to correct that information; and
- how you can complain about a breach by Calvary of the Australian Privacy Principles and how we will deal with such a complaint.
Who is collecting your information?
Little Company of Mary Health Care Limited (Calvary) and its subsidiaries. A list of the entities to which this Collection Notice applies can be found at the end of our Privacy Policy.
This Collection Notice applies to candidates applying for a role at any hospital, aged care home, retirement village, home care service, NDIS service or virtual care service operated by Calvary and its subsidiaries anywhere in Australia, as well as our national offices and shared service centres.
What personal information do we collect and why?
Personal information collected via the Calvary Careers Site will be used for the primary purpose of assessing whether you are a suitable candidate for a role (‘employment’) within Calvary or its subsidiaries and, if successful, to employ you or engage your services. A reference to 'we', 'us', 'our' and ‘Calvary’ within this notice refers to the Calvary Group of businesses.
We collect information that is required or authorised by the Australian laws and mandatory compliance requirements governing the relevant Calvary services, for example State or Territory-based health services legislation, child protection and vulnerable persons legislation and employment laws.
Examples of the information we may need to collect include:
- identification information;
- any health or other profession registration details;
- health information, including vaccination status;
- details of your experience;
- details of visa status;
- information that will allow us to perform applicable suitability checks (which may include national police checks and working with vulnerable people checks);
- details of your referees;
- for successful applicants, we may collect additional personal information on a regular basis if it is relevant to your role such as biometric information (such as your fingerprint) as part of our time and attendance systems.
Can you be anonymous, use a pseudonym or provide only some information?
You can view available job ads anonymously on the Calvary Careers site, but you cannot apply for any job anonymously or by using a pseudonym because we need to be able to identify you in order to assess your application. We use cookies on our Calvary Careers site, but you can manage or disable cookies at any time by accessing your browser settings and clearing your browser data, or by adjusting your cookie preferences in your browser's privacy settings.
If you choose not to provide any of the information requested we may be unable to send you information, fully process your application or properly consider you for employment.
Who will we collect the personal information from?
We will generally collect your personal information directly from you, but we may also collect personal information about you from third parties if we have your consent or if we are permitted by law to collect it from the third party.
We may also combine any information that we collect from you with information collected from you by any of our related bodies corporate (within Australia).
What will we use or disclose the personal information for?
We will use and disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected by us (the primary purpose), unless we are permitted by law to use the information for another purpose (secondary purpose).
The information you provide to us may be stored in a database and disclosed to referees, those of our staff who are involved in recruitment or support roles, executives and the Board, security organisations, and other third parties who assist us in the recruitment process including compliance organisations.
We may also need to disclose information to Government agencies if we are required to do so by law.
Other examples of how we may use and disclose your personal information (including health and other sensitive information), and the types of people and organisations we may disclose it to, are set out in our full Privacy Policy.
Will we use your information for direct marketing?
If you have elected to receive advertisements or other notifications about jobs that are available with Calvary we will use your personal information to send these to you. You can change your preferences at any time.
We will not use information you have provided via the Calvary Careers site for direct marketing of any of our healthcare services.
Will your information be sent overseas?
Your personal information is generally stored at premises or data centres located in Australia (which may be owned by Calvary or by third parties). Sometimes, third parties who store or process data on our behalf do this overseas, typically in the European Union or the United States.
We also use service providers who have employees located overseas who may need to access our systems (and the personal information on those systems) to perform their services (for example staff on the help desks of software providers who provide technical support to us outside Australian business hours).

We will update this Collection Notice from time to time. Any updated versions of this Collection Notice will be posted on the Calvary Careers site.
This Collection Notice was last updated in June 2025.
