Questions? Check out our FAQ's below:

Yes. Study days are scheduled regularly throughout the program.

Interviews are conducted face-to-face on an individual basis and run for approximately one hour, with a variety of questions asked to assess suitability for the program.

While applicants are required to submit an academic transcript and GPA is reviewed as part of the assessment process, selection is based on a holistic review of each application. This includes consideration of personal qualities, clinical performance, communication skills, and professional attributes, not GPA alone.

Yes. Graduate nurses are entitled to annual leave in line with their rostered work pattern:

  • If you work on a 7-day rotating roster, you are entitled to 6 weeks of annual leave per year.
  • If you work on a 5-day roster (e.g. Monday to Friday, such as Theatre), you are entitled to 4 weeks of annual leave per year.

You are supernumerary for the first five days (including orientation and supernumerary time on the ward) of your first placement, and for one to two days at the start of subsequent rotations. Supernumerary days in specialist areas, such as Theatre, may vary in length.

Staff are paid according to the current CRH Enterprise Agreement.

The Calvary Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract. Graduates are able to apply for ongoing positions toward the end of the program, subject to successful completion of all program requirements and position availability.
