About the role
As an independent Pastoral Care Practitioner appointed to this role, you have a unique opportunity to use your professional capabilities and depth of experience to help shape the provision of spiritual care and wellbeing of residents, families and staff in our Homes, impacting lives profoundly.
This role is a critical component an integrated multi-disciplinary team of people working within an established framework supporting residents to live their best lives.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families and staff are identified and responded to with compassion, sensitivity, knowledge and skill.
This role is available part time (4 days per week).
Your mission:
Nurture and support the spiritual and pastoral strengths of residents and their families, by collaborating within the multidisciplinary team and, fostering meaningful connections to enrich the lives of residents and their families.
The ideal candidate will have:
recent experience working in a similar role in either aged care, health care or community settings;
relevant tertiary qualification/s including clinical pastoral education (CPE), counselling or equivalent;
demonstrated understanding of and experience working in a multidisciplinary team;
highly effective interpersonal skills in working with people experiencing vulnerability;
understanding of the pastoral and spiritual needs of people living in a residential aged care setting;
demonstrated ability to undertake spiritual assessments and contribute to care plans;
well-developed knowledge and understanding of various spiritual expressions including faith traditions and denominations;
demonstrated capacity for reflective practice;
demonstrated ability to prepare, lead and / or facilitate the provision of meaningful rituals and celebrations.
