About the role
Working as a Pastoral Carer for Calvary is a profound privilege. You will be invited into the sacred space of people’s lives, offering presence, empathy and support during times of vulnerability and transition. You will join a remarkable team of Pastoral Care Practitioners who work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing holistic care to our patients. Our Pastoral Care department is recognised for its high-functioning, dedicated team and positive culture. You will have access to regular professional development, as well as individual and group clinical supervision.
This is a permanent part time position. You will work regular shifts each week, as negotiated between your needs and the requirements of the team. There will also be opportunities to work extra shifts to cover holidays, sick leave and times of increased clinical demand.
What you bring (please address these Selection Criteria in your application)
- Qualifications in a humanities discipline such as counselling, psychology, education, social work, clinical pastoral education or pastoral ministry
- Relevant experience providing high-level emotional and spiritual care
- A robust and mature spiritual expression and formation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional-level computer skills
- Availability and suitability to work regular weekday shifts with the possibility of extra shifts as required by the Pastoral Care department
- Ability to work across both Calvary Lenah Valley and Calvary St John’s campuses
