The Administration Officer is responsible for providing timely and accurate administrative/transactional services for members of the health care team on designated ward(s)/unit(s) under the direction of a Nurse Manager. The Administration Officer will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remain the responsibility of the Nurse Manager.

Selection criteria

  • Hold a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration and reception duties, including computer skills in a health care environment
  • Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Ability to work flexibly, organise and prioritise a diverse workload, work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity and execute duties with attention to detail.

 

Employment details

Positions available:  Permanent Part-Time (0.8fte)

Salary Classification: Administration Officer Level 3 Year 1-2

Remuneration: $34.47 to $35.54 per hour + super + annual leave loading
