About the role

The After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) is responsible for the co-ordination of effective and efficient patient flow throughout the organisation and between facilities, adhering at all times to the principles of Patient Flow.  The role also involves co-ordination all clinical areas after hours ensuring the safe operation of the hospital including coordination of emergency responses and procurement of safe staffing levels.

We provide services to both public and private patients on behalf of the Hunter New England Local Health District.  Our clinical services include Cancer Services, Critical Care, Coronary Care, General Medicine, Palliative Care; and Surgery and Day Surgery Services.

Various positions available:  Permanent Part-Time (0.4fte) / Temporary Part-Time (0.8fte-6mths & 0.6fte-12mths) / Casual

Salary Classification: Nurse Manager Grade 3 Year 1-2

Remuneration: $70.44 to $71.75 per hour + super + 17.5 % annual leave loading

About you

  • Registered Nurse authorised to practise by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post graduate and clinical management experience in an acute hospital across a variety of clinical services and/or relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards attainment
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage, monitor and evaluate resource allocation
  • Demonstrated organisational, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage a broad range of complex issues and proven ability to provide input, interpret, implement, monitor and evaluate performance against targets, policies, procedures and standards.
