About the role
 
As a Peer Worker (Alcohol & Other Drugs), you will use your lived experience of recovery to provide hope, connection and practical support to people accessing our services. This is a 12-month full-time contract. You will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team in the Women's Wellness and Recovery Program.  
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Provide one‑to‑one and group‑based peer support grounded in lived experience
  • Engage consumers in a trauma‑informed, non‑judgemental and strengths‑based manner
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and the broader AOD team while maintaining the integrity of the peer role
About you
  • Lived experience of alcohol and/or other drug use and sustained recovery, with the ability to use this experience safely and professionally to support others.
  • Strong understanding of recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed, and person‑centered practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete required documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully with people experiencing complex needs, including mental health challenges.
  • Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills.
