Assistant In Nursing - Kogarah Hospital 

  • Fixed term for parental leave cover (approx. 12 months) in the Palliative Care Unit

About the role:

The Assistant in Nursing supports the nursing team in delivering care within an acute/sub-acute environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. They provide direct patient care in line with care plans, assist with interventions, collect and document accurate health information, and communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team in accordance with organisational protocols. Assistants in Nursing are responsible for their own actions, accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated duties, and practice in line with NSW Health guidelines and local policies.

What you bring 

  • Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah
  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) or in second year of a tertiary nursing degree
  • Previous experience in acute/sub-acute hospitals or aged care /community
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
