- Remuneration: $36.39 - $51.09 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's
THE ROLE:
The Acute Care Transitional Rotation Program is aimed at nurses who have completed a minimum one year post graduate nursing experience and who have a genuine interest in Acute Care nursing, specifically General Medicine, Coronary Care and Palliative Care. The program has been designed to assist registered nurses with their professional development during the transition phase from generalist nurse to specialist Acute Care Nurse.
The program will be conducted over a 12-month period with rotation into four (4) acute care services and will comprise both theoretical and clinical components. The rotation framework aims to provide an interactive learning experience that enables the participants to take a holistic view of patient centred care, gain specialised clinical skills, and develop an understanding of caring for the acutely unwell patient as well as developing a network of professional resources.
DUTIES:
- Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment of patients.
- Identify and implement discharge planning requirements.
- Plan appropriate care in consultation with both the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
- Evaluate patient progress and revise nursing interventions where required.
- Complete accurate documentation of nursing care in patient’s medical record and communicate to other team members.
- Protect the rights of patients while respecting their values, customs and spiritual beliefs.
- Function in accordance with legislation and policy relevant to practice.
- Act in accordance with the profession’s code of ethics and the professional standards of a Registered Nurse.
- Maintain confidentiality.

ABOUT YOU:
- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Completed minimum one year post graduate nursing experience.
- Demonstrated desire to further education in Acute Care Nursing.
- Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
