  • Fixed term (12 months) full time
  • Salary classification: Registrar Year 1 - 4
  • Remuneration: $55.97 - $70.20 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's

About the role

The Advanced Trainee will assist and be trained in the clinical management of Haematology and bone marrow transplant inpatient and out-patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and management of patients with haematologic malignancies, bleeding disorders and bone marrow failure states.
  • Administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and blood product, and monitoring their safe usage.
  • Management of pre and post autologous BMT patients and post allogenic BMT patients.
  • Participation in haematology laboratory duties, as relevant to training, including specialized coagulation, morphology, general laboratory, flow cytometry, haemoglobinopathies and stem cell laboratories located at NSW Health Pathology facilities in Hunter. 

What you bring 

  • Primary undergraduate degree registered with the NSW Medical Board.
  • A minimum of 3 years postgraduate hospital experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience in general or subspecialty internal medicine.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the FRACP, FRCPA joint training program, or equivalent.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
