About the role

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a seasoned, visionary clinical leader to take on the role of Clinical Director Neurology running the Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service for Victoria. The Clinical Director leads a dedicated team of clinicians driving high-impact patient care, academic research, and clinical trials. The service is based at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB), a 32 bed public health care facility providing a range of inpatient, community and ambulatory services for palliative care and progressive neurological conditions.

 
Your main duties will include:
  • Clinical Leadership: Develop and implement the clinical strategy for the Neurology Department, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and safety standards.
  • Clinical Governance: Maintain high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and compliance with Calvary and Victorian Health Policies.
  • Specialty Growth: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the development and integration of Progressive Neurology services
  • Workforce Mentorship & Development: Lead, mentor, and foster a collaborative environment for senior medical staff, fellows, and trainees.
  • Academic & Research Engagement: Drive clinical trial adoption and strengthen relationships with academic institutions
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, resource allocation, and budget management for the department.
Selection  Criteria:
  • Qualifications: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology.
  • Registration: Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA in Victoria
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role within a public or private hospital setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Vision: Ability to drive innovation in neurology, including in research and patient care delivery.
