About the Role:
The Clinical Midwife will be responsible for providing expert midwifery care, with a particular emphasis on supporting and educating expectant parents and their families. You will play a pivotal role in guiding parents through their pregnancy and the early postnatal period by offering evidence-based information and practical advice on a range of topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to expectant parents.
- Provide support and direction to Registered, Graduate and Assistant and Student RM’s.
- Management of agreed portfolio.
- Support a positive workplace culture.
- Facilitating parent education classes, including antenatal education, breastfeeding support, and postpartum care.
- Practice in accordance with Calvary and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, Code of Conduct and Calvary’s missions and values.
- Providing emotional and practical support to parents and families during pregnancy and the early postnatal period.
Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in midwifery, with recent experience in the Parent Education space.
- Advanced level written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
Desirable Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in Midwifery or a related field.
- Experience in facilitating Parent Education classes.
