Palliative Care Clinical Nurse - Mary Potter Hospice

About the role
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.
Working 4 days per week over a 7 day rotating shift roster, the Palliative Care Clinical Nurse provides excellence in health care standards, practices in accordance with legal requirements and the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. As the Palliative Care Clinical Nurse, you will actively participate in all aspects of our palliative care service; with the opportunity to work within our Calvary Palliative Home Care Service if desired.

- Accountability for delivering a high standard of care to all patients
- Dedication to the promotion of the Mission and Values of the Little Company of Mary
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and preceptor staff
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership qualities
- Minimum of 12 months post graduate clinical experience in palliative care
- Postgraduate qualifications in palliative care, or working towards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Publisher

The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude to the role with a ‘can do’ approach, whilst leading the team to provide a high level of palliative care to our patients in Mary Potter Hospice.
- AHPRA Registration
- Current drivers licence without restrictions
- Demonstrated clinical experience in palliative care nursing
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of the National Standards for Safety and Quality in Healthcare, relevant legislations, policies and procedures
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
- A post graduate qualification in Palliative Care or willingness to work towards
