Venous Access Team (VAT)

• Remuneration: $64.70 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

VAT is looking for new members of the team to work on a casual / back fill basis! The VAT team is responsible for the provision of high quality patient centred nursing care to patients requiring vascular access. The right candidate must possess advanced nursing skills, professional knowledge and judgement to provide a high standard of assessment, clinical care and expert advice.

The VAT team have a leadership role at CMN in the development and provision of evidence based clinical nursing practice related to vascular access. They practice as a clinical expert, professional role model and change agent to promote the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality vascular access.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist acts as a clinical resource and leader in the clinical specialty, and is identified as a ‘core person’ in the specialty area of practice and competently performs their function at an advanced level.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for the provision and documentation of safe, effective, and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.

Selection Criteria – Essential:

• Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Nurses and Midwives Registration Board, NSW. With at least three years’ experience working in the clinical area of your specified post-graduate qualification
• Current documented evidence of recognized training and competency to insert peripheral cannulas and have recent, extensive experience
• Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/ clients to understand their needs, enhance service delivery and act on conflicting priorities
