About the role

To provide high quality, effective and timely bereavement counselling and support to clients residing in the George’s River, Bayside and Sutherland Local Government Areas, who have experienced a recent death, consistent with Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK) and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

About you
  • A bachelor degree in Counselling, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Work or an equivalent tertiary qualification as recognised by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and as per the NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Professional and Associated Staff Agreement 2022.
  • Demonstrated core competency skills in counselling.
  • High level knowledge of models of bereavement, grief & loss and counselling processes. 
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills, to both engage patients/clients and work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in the provision of clinical care using evidence-based practice, commensurate with years of experience.
  • Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah.
