Calvary Riverina Drug and Alcohol Centre:
Situated on site adjacent to the main Calvary Riverina hospital, the Riverina Drug and Alcohol Centre provides comprehensive drug and alcohol programs and treatment services reducing drug related harm for individuals, families and communities.
The service identifies and treats clients with complex health and social needs while supportive effective mental health interventions.
- Provide evidence informed services including psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, counselling and other relevant and approved modalities to clients
- Provide interventions to motivate clients toward change, including harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies
- Identify, respond and escalate, if required, significant risk factors or deterioration in client’s condition and develop and implement an appropriate management plan
- Develop caring, supportive and professional relationships with clients and their families/carers
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling) and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Registration with the Australian Counselling Association
- Highly developed knowledge and application of alcohol and other drugs theoretical frameworks, national guidelines and evidence based therapeutic interventions
- A sound understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of alcohol and other drug problems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability
- As part of the application process, you will be required to complete pre-employment checks which may include, but is not limited to reference checks, work rights, criminal history check, NDIS/WWCC/WWVP checks, and a health evaluation to ensure suitability for the role
